The Twins have outrighted 25-year old righty Julio DePaula and 23-year old righty Oswaldo Sosa to AAA making them both free agents. DePaula appeared in 51 games (5 starts) in AAA-ball and he was 3-5 with 2 saves, a 5.70 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. Sosa pitched in 30 games (19 starts) in A+AA ball last season and he was 4-7 with a 5.66 ERA and a 1.82 WHIP. Sosa walked an amazing 75 batters in only 105 innings last season and that certainly didn’t help his cause in a organization that really values throwing strikes. Both of these guys have good arms but the Twins don’t have room for them in the near future on their pitching staff.

Santos played in 152 games in AAA ball last season and he was 118 for 535 (.221 avg, .580 OPS) with 64 runs scored, 5 homers, 56 RBIs and 9 stolen bases. Jorgensen played in 2 games for the Twins last season and he was 0 for 1 (.000 avg). He has now played in 10 games in his career with the Twins and he is 3 for 20 (.150 avg, .600 OPS) with 3 runs scored, 2 homers and 6 RBIs. The Twins won’t miss either of these guys moving forward.
