The Minnesota Twins dump a couple of pitchers
The Twins have outrighted 25-year old righty Julio DePaula and 23-year old righty Oswaldo Sosa to AAA making them both free agents. DePaula appeared in 51 games (5 starts) in AAA-ball and he was 3-5 with 2 saves, a 5.70 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. Sosa pitched in 30 games (19 starts) in A+AA ball last season and he was 4-7 with a 5.66 ERA and a 1.82 WHIP. Sosa walked an amazing 75 batters in only 105 innings last season and that certainly didn’t help his cause in a organization that really values throwing strikes. Both of these guys have good arms but the Twins don’t have room for them in the near future on their pitching staff.
