While the loss of closer Joe Nathan could be devastating I see the Twins being able to still close out a lot of wins with Jon Rauch. The Twins still have a solid starting rotation and some depth in the pen. The big key for me is to watch and see if J.J. Hardy hits for power like he has in the not too distant past. If Hardy hits for power the Twins can get by with Brendan Harris and Nick Punto platooning at 3B. Another key in my eyes will be to see who has more at bats at the end of the season: Delmon Young or Jim Thome. If the answer is Thome then I think the Twins can win the central. If the answer is Young then I see them falling short. I’m taking the over on the win total but I see the Twins finishing in 2nd place in the A.L. Central and missing the playoffs in 2010.
