Blogged under General, Front Page, Throwing Well, Bloglockers by chinmusic on Saturday 4 June 2011 at 1:17 pm

25-year old righty starting pitcher Anthony Swarzak has really stepped up since replacing Francisco Liriano in the starting rotation (Liriano is on the D.L.). In his last two starts, Swarzak is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP. He has only given up 8 hits in 14 innings in his last two starts and he’s been very aggressive in attacking hitters with his pretty good arsenal of pitches. Swarzak has now pitched in 5 games (3 starts) for the Twins so far this year and he is 1-2 with a 3.43 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. If he continues to pitch well, he could bump Brian Duensing out of the rotation when Liriano comes off the D.L.
